Because No Mother Wants To Diaper Their Baby With Dollar Bills.

Back when I was a first-time Mom, you know, four whole long years ago and all that jazz, I believed that the best things for baby were the most expensive things. This included but wasn't limited to things such as bottles, clothes, those fancy organic wooden chew toys and most importantly, diapers.

Oh how delusional and naive I was back then. How easily I was tricked into believing what so many baby product companies set out to sell me. I, the first-time mother, full of doubt and uncertainty, was their target audience and boy, did I ever deliver. Or should I say, did my wallet ever deliver.

Four years and nearly three babies later, I can't help but laugh at my former self. Of course there are always exceptions. Some of the pricier baby products are better than the less expensive alternatives but when it comes down to diapers, after a few years and several diaper trials later, I can honestly say that you don't always need to spend the most money to keep those tiny precious heinies safe and dry.

I first stumbled upon the new and improved diaper brand Mom to Mom while shopping the aisles of our neighborhood grocery store, Safeway. I had just run out of my last emergency diaper, or the extras I keep on hand in a basket in the back of my car for those "Oops Moments" that moms both new and experienced often fall victim to, and needed to restock before the thought had completely slipped my mind.

Touting "excellent leakage protection" and designed to protect baby's skin with a soft, hypoallergenic liner containing vitamin E and aloe, not to mention coming in at a very sweet bang for my buck, I decided to give the diapers a try. Who knew that I would be giving them a try as soon as we returned to the parking lot that very afternoon?

That's the thing about Motherhood. You always have to expect the unexpected, especially when it comes to things such as bodily fluids and diapering.

I will admit, upon first inspection, I wasn't too impressed with the diapers. There certainly wasn't anything fancy about them and they weren't nearly as thick as some of the other brands I had tried. I was doubtful but like much of everything in motherhood, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, I couldn't think of a better test run than my toddler who was halfway through a week's course of Amoxicillin thanks to a pesky ear infection.

Although there wasn't much to the outside of the diaper, the inner liner was indeed soft and the side panels seemed to be extra stretchy, an attribute perfect for my 22-month old who is constantly on the move. As I fastened the sticky tabs across his belly, I whispered a silent prayer to the gods of diapering in hopes that these diapers wouldn't let me down.

After an entire week of diapering solely with the Mom to Mom brand (and this included over nights), I was pleasantly surprised with the brand. Surprised much like I had been many times before by the sheer fact that a less expensive product could not only protect my child but also produce the same desired results as some of the more expensive brands on the market.

During that week we suffered only a single blowout which was likely the fault of yours truly who was trying perhaps a little too hard to savor the nice weather when it was upon us by staying at the park for an extra hour (or two). I blame the experience mother who wanted to soak up just five more minutes of vitamin D and the one-hundred and twenty-seventh climb up and down the swirly slide for the blowout and not so much the diaper.

Safeway and the Mom to Mom brand clearly understand our needs as mothers, that sometimes we need to save money in one arena of mothering in order to spend more in another. That we seek out brands and products we can not only love but also trust and recommend to other mothers.

Not only does Safeway provide Mom to Mom brand diapers, but they carry a whole line of high-quality baby products designed and created by moms, for moms. You can check out their line of everything from wipes to formula, toiletries and nutritional drinks, here.

My thoughts on the Mom to Mom diaper brand? Worth every little penny.
